Taking Fluoride Out of Your Water

If you live in a region or country in which tap water is being fluoridated:

Ways to Remove Fluoride from Water

  1. Reverse Osmosis Filtration
    This is used to purify several types of bottled water (not all), so some bottled waters are unfluoridated. Reverse osmosis systems are generally unaffordable for personal use.
  2. Activated Alumina Defluoridation Filter
    These filters are used in locales where fluorosis is prevalent. They are relatively expensive (lowest price I saw was $30/filter) and require frequent replacement, but do offer an option for home water filtration.
  3. Distillation Filtration
    There are commercially available distillation filters that can be purchased to remove fluoride from water. On a related note: When looking at bottled water, keep in mind that ‘distilled water’ does not imply that a product is suitable for drinking water and other undesirable impurities may be present.

Since fluoride particles easily enter your system through your skin, a more thorough approach would
constitute eliminating fluoride in all water delivery routes present in your house or residence:

If you learn that your water supply is fluoridated, you’ll want to make efforts to have the fluoridation decision reversed. At the same time, you’ll want to assure that your own drinking (and bathing) water is fluoride-free. Water distillers and reverse osmosis systems effectively remove fluoride, along with other dangerous chemicals and are a practical and cost-effective solution to treating drinking water. Unfortunately, however, these methods are neither practical nor cost effective for treating all of the water coming into your home. Whole house filtration is necessary if your water supply is fluoridated because there is no shower filter on the market capable of removing fluoride – and fluoride, as previously mentioned, is readily absorbed through the skin (sidebar). There are three types of filtration media that will remove fluoride from water: bone char (a form of carbon), alumina (aluminum oxide) and a fluoride ion exchange resin. Knowledgeable water treatment professionals in your community can provide details about these filtration options. It should be noted that fluoride is not removed from water by boiling; it only becomes more concentrated in this manner. Even if you have effectively removed fluoride from your drinking and bathing water, if you are living in a fluoridated community, you will still need to exercise caution when dining out, for the water served – and everything made with it, like coffee – will contain fluoride. Aside from drinking only non-fluoridated water, you’ll want to buy only unprocessed foods. Choose whole foods that are grown organically, without use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides. The ultimate solution to the fluoride pollution problem, however, is to stop fluoridation. Source

Benign Alternatives to Fluoride for Dental Maintenance

Lastly, let’s go over benign alternatives to fluoride’s purported role as a way to prevent caries.

Toothpastes Without Fluoride

You could try a toothpaste without fluoride. Personally I use the herbal toothpaste called Parodontax (the version without fluoride of course).

Colloidal Silver

It has long been known that silver has bactericidal properties. As such, a water solution of tiny silver particles can work wonders in the fight against tooth decay:

As single celled creatures called bacteria use a common type enzyme or ‘chemical lung” for their oxygen metabolism, the presence of colloidal silver cripples the enzyme, therefore causing the organism to suffocate. Any and all bacteria are therefore killed within the 6-minute time frame, without causing any adverse effect on the surrounding tissue cells. Dr Becker also states in his book: “Positive silver kills all types of bacteria”. This is exiting, because no other single antibiotic works against all types of bacteria. Positive silver, however, offers several advantages over previous forms. There are no ions besides silver to burden tide tissues. It works against all types of bacteria and viruses, even killing antibiotic resistant strains as well as all fungal infections. Source

The case for silver being effective indeed in fighting bacterial infections is implied by a patent describing the use of metal ions in the treatment of periodontal disease:

Periodontal disease can be treated by the administration of metal ions,
preferably silver ions, to the site where the microorganisms that cause
this disease reside.

Can Colloidal Silver Really Cure Dental Plaque?

According to a 1999 study conducted at Brigham Young University, the bacterium Streptococcus mutans, which is a major cause of dental plaque and tooth decay, was inhibited and destroyed using just 5 ppm of colloidal silver.

In fact, in the study colloidal silver was demonstrated to be as good at destroying the bacteria as five different classes of antibiotics, including: the tetracyclines, fluorinated quinolones (Ofloxacin), the penicillins, the cephalosporins (Cefaperazone) and the macrolides (Erythromycin).

Now that doesn’t prove that colloidal silver cures dental plaque. After all, in addition to Streptococcus mutans there are over 500 other types of bacterial that can cause a buildup of dental plaque. But it does show that colloidal silver is highly effective against at least one of the most common causes of dental plaque.

[…]

The simple method I described earlier in this article, in which colloidal silver is simply held in the mouth and swished forcefully around several times a day for ten or fifteen minutes worked wonders for eradicating both my tooth infection and plaque. And I’ve learned over the course of the past 12 years, while conducting over 2,000 interviews with regular colloidal silver users including doctors, dentists, nurses, chiropractors, medical researchers and laymen alike, that this same technique has worked equally well for many others who have used it, too.

[…]

Yes, colloidal silver can kill the bacterial responsible for the buildup of plaque on your teeth. And this is truly great news because plaque and the resulting dental infections it causes is a scourge that has brought nothing but pain and misery to literally hundreds of millions of people around the world, and has resulted in a box office business for dentists everywhere. Tea Tree Oil

Another alternative to fluoride for dental health is Tea Tree Oil:

Tea tree has a long history of traditional use. Australian aboriginals used tea tree leaves for healing skin cuts, burns, and infections by crushing the leaves and applying them to the affected area.

Tea tree oil contains consituents called terpenoids, which have been found to have antiseptic and antifungal activity. The compound terpinen-4-ol is the most abundant and is thought to be responsible for most of tea tree oil’s antimicrobial activity.

People use tea tree oil for the following conditions:

* Acne
* Athlete’s foot
* Dandruff
* Vaginitis
* Thrush
* Periodontal disease

[…]

The tea tree oil in commercial toothpastes and mouthwashes is generally considered to be acceptable because it is not swallowed. Avoid homemade tea tree oil mouthwashes.
Source

Tea Tree Oil however is not as harmless as colloidal silver, read this “Safety Concerns” section.

Tea tree oil is a natural antifungal, antibacterial, antiviral, anti-infection oil. It is effective against nail fungus, ringworm, athlete’s foot, dandruff, acne and many types of infestations including lice, mites and scabies.

Tea tree oil is not just soothing and disinfecting, it is capable of penetrating into the lower skin layers with its anti-inflammatory, disinfectant, analgesic (pain killing) and cicatrizant (wound-healing) qualities. It helps the skin to heal by encouraging the formation of scar tissue.

In an unsupervised study of nearly fifty individuals, it was found that brushing your teeth with a tea tree containing gel twice a day reduced the incidence of gingivitis, which is an inflammation of the gums frequently occurring because of not cleaning your teeth regularly.Source

Conclusion

An invention by the Nazis to dumb down, make docile and curb revolt urges of camp-inmates, it is hardly a surprise that fluoride compounds have a myriad of neurotoxic and poisonous properties. The evidence speaks quite clearly that fluoride compounds should be outlawed and banned for public consumption.

The way to do this is to educate yourself as well as your social circle on the atrocious nature of these stupefying and extremely toxic compounds. Rid fluoride from your tap water as thoroughly as possible and use alternatives to fluoridated toothpaste. In addition, be keen on using no edible products containing fluoride. Read the labels and learn how to do this reflexively.

Perhaps only by a systematic boycotting and banning of products containing fluoride can a halt be put to the prevalence of fluoride compounds and its immoral and downright criminal infusion in a myriad of consumer products.

    • According to the current consensus view of the dental research community, fluoride’s primary – if not sole – benefit to teeth comes from topical application to the surfaces of teeth (while in the mouth), and not from ingestion.

      Fluoride is poisonous, much like arsenic and lead. It has zero vitamin-like properties. Similarly to arsenic and lead I advice against consuming fluoride compounds whatsoever.
